CADL002 Create a Divine Life Podcast ~ When We Lack Personal Power
If you have ever felt like you’re a pawn in someone else’s game; a powerless player that is regularly used, abused and manipulated for the gain and self interest of others, then this episode will introduce you to aspects of what’s missing in your life so you can begin to live your life on your terms.
Isn’t it amazing how some people just always seem to know what’s best for YOUR life?
Beloved Goddess, if you ever felt like your life (or part of your life) has been taken hostage by someone else’s ego, insecurity and/or fears, then you can completely relate to what I’m talking about.
In this episode, Isis Jade discusses the areas of life where we might feel disempowered or victimized when we lack access to our Goddess Power.
The truth is, many beautiful, dynamic, highly capable women have unknowingly given away their power (or part thereof) to effectively drive their lives and manifest their dreams.
Instead, these amazing Goddesses end up allowing relationships, expectations, beliefs, rules, dogma, societal constraints, situations, circumstances and other people to dictate, direct and control our reality for far too long.
Some of us have gone straight from parents telling us what to do, to schools telling us what degrees to get and careers to go for, to life partners telling us what we can do and what we can’t do, to having kids and living vicariously through them…repeating the same patterns our parents repeated before us… automated, miserable, and resentful.
Learning to subjugate our will to the whims of others in order to be known as a “nice” or “good” girl, starts VERY early on in life when we are first taught to conform to other’s expectations (lest we are found out to be so vastly different and thus, by golly, REJECTED. Heck, nobody wants to be known as a weirdo!).
There are people everywhere who think they know better than you how you should live out every subtle tiny nuance of your life. They write magazines & books, they teach classes and host workshops. There are authority figures, teachers, preachers, doctors, therapists, even well-meaning friends… all of whom get a kick out of telling us what we should think, what we should believe, how we should dress, how we should behave, what we should eat and how we should work out to look a certain way. There are people who get a thrill (a high) telling you where you can go. Who you should spend time with. Why you are here. What you are good at, what your future holds and even what our life purpose should be.
So, why do we listen to any of this garbage???
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.” Marianne Williamson
Think about that for a moment my dear. You are powerful beyond measure. When are you going to start respecting and honoring yourself and that power you are capable of wielding. And this isn’t the kind of power we wield as manipulation we wield over others games we play in our relationships. That’s a weakness of the worst sort.
This is true power, where you can stand in your center, in your core – strong, confident, self-assured, capable, dynamic, and powerful, while at the same time maintain your gracious, compassionate, kind, forgiving and loving nature. One doesn’t exclude the other.
- We give away our power – people can’t take it without our permission;
- We allow people and things to have an unhealthy level of control and influence in our life;
- Getting angry, bitter and/or resentful at others will fix nothing – although it’s totally understandable;
- Positive change starts with awareness, understanding and acknowledgement;
- The situation will change when you decide to change – and you can change any time you like.
It’s for you to decide.
